The Show
Living Your Personal Best is an eye-opening and unique radio show that utilizes an innovative, fun and informative format to inspire women to live a lifestyle that embraces self-care and healthy habits to reach their personal best, by turning “I can’t” into “I can” for positive results.
Hosted by two of the country’s top fitness and lifestyle coaches Amy Lundberg and Alice Greene, together they deliver powerful weekly inspiration, insights, coaching and personalized guidance that listeners can immediately apply in their own lives.
An Inside Track to a Powerful Audience
Living Your Personal Best airs every Monday from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm EST. It is both engaging and timely, as each show provides a platform that encourages women to rediscover their values, stand up for themselves and indulge their needs with confidence.
Alice and Amy will address topics pertinent to women and take listeners through a series of action-oriented steps they can easily apply to their own lives throughout each month, drawing them back week to week. The monthly topics will focus on specific health, fitness and self care issues and address the challenges that women face daily to feel better with themselves and about themselves.
Through careful research, coupled with their experience coaching hundreds of women, Amy and Alice have an inside track into the challenges, needs, desires and aspirations of women over the age of 35. They are educated women who are divided between those who are stay-at-home moms and those in the work force as professionals or entrepreneurs.
These women are busy, stressed and realizing that they are not at their personal best. Many of them will be dealing with health concerns, extra weight, and reduced self esteem. And they are looking for answers that will help them feel better and to regain a sense of control in their health and fitness.
This in-depth understanding allows each show to attract an audience ready to live a lifestyle that embraces self-care and healthy habits. The result is a powerful opportunity for both small business owners, as well as larger corporations, to reach one of the most influential and powerful segments of society – women over the age of 35.
Overview of Audience Demographics & Internet Radio Metrics
Arbitron, the leading radio ratings and media research firm, estimates that 20 million Americans (about 10% of the population) listen to Internet Radio on a weekly basis. Their research indicates that 57% of weekly Internet radio users say they have listened while researching a produce or service online, while nearly half (46%) have listened while shopping and purchasing online. Internet radio offers advertisers “the last word before the sale” for those who research products and make purchases online. Statistics show 60% of online listeners made a purchase over the Internet in the past month.
Further research on Internet radio finds that the majority of Internet users are women (52%) and that women make up 40% of online radio listeners. These women are primarily between the ages of 35-54 and happen to be the target market of the Living Your Personal Best radio show.
The demographics also show that online radio listeners are more educated and upscale compared to the entire Internet user population with a household income exceeding $50,000. Online radio listeners also click on web advertising twice as often as other Internet users and 73% of them purchase online, spending an average of $1,039 as compared to the $636 average of the typical Internet user.
Almost 25% of online radio listeners surf the broadcaster’s web site while tuning in. An additional 30% work at the computer while doing online listening. And 27% surf other sites while the Internet Broadcast streams in the background. This provides our sponsors the unique opportunity to not only be heard through on-air spots, but drive leads to their product or service through online banners and sponsorship links as streaming audio listeners have the ability to act on web radio ads immediately.
Advantage of Internet Radio Sponsorship
Internet radio listeners are far more interactive with sponsors than terrestrial radio listeners and even traditional Web browsers. 46% of net radio listeners say they pay attention to streaming advertisement, which is twice as often as they pay attention to banner ads. A gateway ad, used to introduce a program, is particularly powerful and has higher listener attention. Streaming media listeners (“streamies”) are far more likely to have book marked a web site (70%) than non-listeners (46%). Net radio listeners spent 46% more time online than the average person. 41% of online radio listeners have visited a web site because of radio ad compared to 24% of Web users that have not listened to radio online.
