March 5, 2007- Sue Tomte
Sue's Success:
Sue Tomte found herself dealing with 40% body fat and needing a better way to get moving.
She realized just working out and feeling frustrated will result simply in more frustration rather than success. She’s learned that it isn’t just about following a prescribed routine but recognizing how her unconscious beliefs and feelings were creating behaviors that sabotaged her efforts. Sue states "changing attitudes, getting excited about the end result - enjoying the moment is critical to success on all kinds of levels!!!!"
March 12, 2007- Barb Gau
Barb’s Success:
Barb was obsessed with her weight and checking the scale constantly in her early 20s, leading to a short period of bulimia. She found her inner strength and stopped, and then looked for healthier ways to be slim. Ultimately she discovered this meant changing her beliefs about food, exercise and herself.
She realized her all or nothing behavior and obsession with a number was the problem. She found that moderation and loving herself were really the answer. She has maintained her healthy lifestyle activities for nearly 30 years and had to learn that this is a lifelong commitment, which requires adjustments along the way.
March 19, 2007- Judy Wright
Judy’s Success:
Judy realized that if she was going to accomplish all the things she wanted in the 2nd half of her life, she had to change her mindset about food, her body image and her ability to take charge of her future. She was extremely overweight and faced the prospect of diabetes, which ran in both sides of her family, if she didn’t take some action. She chose to get a gastric bypass operation.
She knew that she could eat her way back to her former weight if she didn’t make changes after her operation. Without getting the support she needed from her doctor or groups formed of bypass patients, she carved out her own path by learning to set boundaries, put her needs first and change her beliefs. It has been 4 ½ years and she has maintained her new mindset, lifestyle and weight loss.
March 26, 2007- Sara Feigenholtz & Tiffany Crate
Sara’s Success:
Sara came to fitness and lifestyle coach Tiffany Crate with determination to adopt a healthier lifestyle. She had made a decision to become fit for life, and not through fad diets or other quick fixes. Sara wanted to learn how to eat sensibly, incorporate exercise into her daily routine, and except personal responsibility for her circumstances. She also knew she needed to shut down the negative voices in her head that were keeping her stuck. She was ready to make this the last time she would have to battle her unhealthy lifestyle.
Sara has lost 25 pounds and a couple of dress sizes. She hasn’t been this fit or trim for decades. What she has gained is arguably significant— increased cardiovascular and muscular endurance, muscle strength, a healthier back, and “quieter” knees. Most importantly, Sara’s thoughts are more empowering these days, in comparison to her old, negative self-talk.
Tiffany Crate has been the owner and director of TLC Fitness Consulting (www.tlcfitness.net) in Chicago for 16 years, having coached thousands of individuals toward a healthy lifestyle. As a fitness and lifestyle coach, Tiffany saw a pattern of symptoms in so many of her female clients, family, and friends, that she began to heavily research this phenomenon in order to assist them in preventing or resolving the annoying symptoms of perimenopause and menopause. Before she knew it, she had created a lecture series appropriately called “Get A Grip” which she hosts as a teleclass over the phone. Her knowledge of adrenal exhaustion, nutrition, and exercise training has been invaluable to women of all ages. |
