Therese Slechta
Therese’s Success:
Therese grew up eating meat and potatoes on a farm and kept her weight under control just by being active. That changed when she started a desk job in her twenties and began eating unhealthy lunches and dinners. Her lunch hour was her down fall, she loved eating fast food or going shopping. She also became a closet eater By the time she was 30, she was 215 pounds and wearing a size 20.
She was inspired to join weight watchers, but didn’t see results fast enough, so she started walking a mile at lunch. This led to more walking, strength training and then biking, swimming and running. She not only hit her goal weight, she went on to complete an Ironman competition at 32.
Therese states “I feel like if I came this far anyone can do anything you set your mind to. I came from being a couch potato to becoming an athlete and now I love life so much more than ever before!!”

Maureen’s Success:
By the time Maureen was an international model and commercial actress, she had given up meat and taken an interest in healthy nutrition and whole foods from experiences she had in college. But as a model she became obsessed with food and her weight, so when she ate she often did so with guilt.
She had a spiritual epiphany that helped her reconnect with herself and to understand that there was more to eating food than she realized. She made a connection with food that fed her soul and discovered that it was more important to eat what really satisfied her on all levels and to stop depriving herself. And she recognized that the best way to have an ideal weight is to be in sync with your heart and soul and honor yourself.
Maureen is the author of Soul-Full Eating: A (delicious) Path to Higher Consciousness and offers soul-full coaching.
June 18, 2007 - Judy Wright
Judy’s Success:
Judy realized that if she was going to accomplish all the things she wanted in the 2nd half of her life, she had to change her mindset about food, her body image and her ability to take charge of her future. She was extremely overweight and faced the prospect of diabetes, which ran in both sides of her family, if she didn’t take some action. She chose to get a gastric bypass operation.
She knew that she could eat her way back to her former weight if she didn’t make changes after her operation. Without getting the support she needed from her doctor or groups formed of bypass patients, she carved out her own path by learning to set boundaries, put her needs first and change her beliefs. It has been 4 ½ years and she has maintained her new mindset, lifestyle and weight loss.

Marian’s Success:
Marian had a career and glamorous life to envy, but she wasn’t happy, fulfilled or sure it was the life she really wanted. She played the game, did what was expected and prided herself for working long hours and being ultra busy. She even fooled herself, but she couldn’t fool her body. She suffered pelvic pain, nausea, fatigue and mood swings, and was diagnosed with endometriosis. She also dealt with her mother’s death.
Both were wake up calls and part of an inner healing that led her to change how she lived her life. She worked with holistic practitioners, spiritual healers, and a nutritionist to align herself to her own true spirit and reclaim her health. Her journey led her to discover coaching and the joy of sharing her gifts with others. She is the author of Wake Up Inspired. |
