Determined to Keep Up with Her Kids
|
Our guest is Elizabeth Allen
Featured in Experience Life magazine June 2007 |

|
Elizabeth Allen didn’t grow up with a weight problem, so it surprised her when she had put on weight in her twenties after getting into a committed relationship. She lost weight for her wedding and resumed dieting when the weight returned. She did yo-yo dieting for years, dropping as much as 35 pounds but bouncing back with even more weight - once hitting 236 pounds. Ten years after she started putting on weight and after her two sons were born, she got tired of being tired and worried that she wouldn’t be able to keep up with her kids.
Motivated for her sons, she resolved on New Years to get healthy and fit, and started exercising on her own. She then turned to a trainer for guidance. Her challenge was finding time, staying motivated, and recognizing that this was not a short term commitment but a way of life. She lost 60 pounds in nine months and still goes to the gym. What keeps her going is how good it feels and how much happier her family is. |

Breaking Free of Living to Work
| |
Our guest is Kathi Austin and Alan Davidson |

|
Kathi Austin lived for her career and didn’t have a healthy life balance. She seldom saw friends, dealt with a lot of stress and ran for exercise, which was starting to create pain in her joints and feet. The pressure added up, and she finally decided to make some changes. She realized she needed to get a healthier lifestyle, and a crisis at work gave her even more motivation to achieve this.
Working with Alan Davidson, she put her work into a healthier perspective and began doing more things outside of work. With his help she began to find out who she really was and what she wanted to be. And she began to pay attention and understand when signals from her emotional, physical and mental states were indicating something wasn’t right. By focusing on what she wanted and making changes for herself, she now works less, feels more content and is thrilled to be doing yoga.
Alan Davidson has taught massage, meditation, yoga and human transformation. For Kathi he was a life and body coach. |

Fearless In Finding Her Own Way
| |
Our guest is Cindy Atkins |

|
Cindy Atkins was putting more out than she could really give, and it took a serious illness to help her see how important it was to take care of herself and be more self nurturing. She had to take a hard look at her situation and toss out the things that were draining her energy and create healthy boundaries for managing her life. It wasn’t easy to find her own way or to make the changes she knew were needed, but she faced what was in her way, came to see the wisdom in her situation and achieved a healthy lifestyle through practices in meditation and yoga for balancing and nurturing her mind, body and spirit.
