Taking Healthy Living to the Next Level

Our Special Guests are Anita Gustis and Deborah Arneson

Anita Gustis has spent much of her life doing things that are healthy, but she got to a point where she realized that it wasn’t enough and that she needed additional help with making healthy food choices.  She turned to Deborah Arneson and learned more than just how to eat in a healthy balanced manner, but also getter better sleep, enough water and regular exercise.  She has seen a difference in her weight and now recognizes the necessity of proper sleep habits and nutrition.

Deborah Arneson is a nutritional counselor and passionate about getting people to understand that dieting is harmful and that eating well and gaining control over one’s health are a matter of awareness and sound decision making.  She worked with Anita and guided her to create an inner awareness using simple steps and education.  This gave Anita the tools to be proactive and holistic in taking care of her health.

Motivated for the Short and Long Term

Our guest is Shann Vander Leek

Shann Vander Leek saw her reflection in a store front window and realized she was FAT.  A week later, at a doctor’s appointment, she glanced at her patient file when the doctor stepped out of the room and saw that he described her as a pleasant overweight female.  She knew she had been sedentary for years, but she cried all the way home.  These were the catalysts that motivated her to get moving in 2003.

It also gave her the incentive to learn to prepare and eat healthier food.  She found it was ok to make time to take care of herself and give herself permission to be active even when that meant being away from her family.  The more active she became the more she enjoyed life, and the better she slept and felt.  She had a setback in 2005, but has learned what she needs to do to get herself back on track.

It is the Little Things that Add Up to Wellness

  Our guest is Sandra Garth

Sandra Garth found herself responding to an add looking for individuals that wanted a Lifestyle Makeover.  She was then selected to do CNNA’s New You Revolution with Dr. Sanjay Gupta.  She learned how to give herself permission to be fit and well and over came her biggest obstacle, managing arthritis without prescribed medication.  She learned she could trust herself, relax and ask for what she needed from others.  Sandra now says with conviction, “This life is not a dress rehearsal and it is short, make the most of it.  Most importantly that the little things you do for wellness add up in the long run.”

Choosing Personal Responsibility to Heal From Abuse

Our guest is Sharon Lund

Sharon Lund was getting married to the man she loved, but he was keeping a secret from her.  He was infected with AIDS.   Even after he married her in 1983, he did not disclose this information and willingly infected Sharon. She has had to learn forgiveness and been living as a “positive” with HIV/AIDS for 24 years.  She has also had to overcome anorexia.  She will be sharing with us her story and how she used integration of mind-body-spirit healing techniques to be healthy, well balanced and gain a sense of inner peace.  These techniques have also kept her alive.
